Day 62 (Saturday, posting late)

I don't know what happened Friday. I got off work at a decent time, for a Friday. I guess I got really engrossed with a tv series I was waching on netflixs. Eventually, I noticed it was "6:30 am" . I thought to myself, "If I start Yoga X now, I won't be going to sleep until at least 8 am" (this being bad because I needed to be waking up at 12:30 am the next day). So, I decided I would go to sleep now. Immediantly at 6:30 am. It did not happen.. I still went to sleep at 8 am.. but with no workout. I let myself geta nice 8 hours of sleep. I got a haircut, got grocceries, and then promptly started Yoga X.

Yoga X- Yoga X went well. I think I performed even better in the start since I had my camera on me. Eventualy the batteries ran out. Since 50% of my subscribers (1 of 2) mentioned the main thing they like at my blog is the pictures.. I'll try to incorporate more pictures in the mix. The picture to side is me doing "Crane". I held it for about 55 seconds. This is also the first time I've seen what I look like doing crane. I guess I really need to get my knees in to my armpits more.. and from there focus on getting my feet up to my butt. From now on.. it's form over time.
This lady explains it well, and also explains the "Crow".. witch really yoga people (not us P90X'ers) typically work with before they do Crane.

So, before I started my next workout in the evening I waited for my brother to go to sleep. It was planned that we would all leave at 12:30 am. I mentioned to him the time at 2:50 am, but he insisted on staying up later (he was even going to sleep around midnight the previous nights). He would end up getting somewhere around 6 hours of sleep that night.

Legs and Back- I really put alot of effort in and was sweating not to long into it. I could feel the effort I put in my legs. My reps on pullups increased.. that suprised me considering how tired I was. I felt really good finishing it.

I started Ab Ripper X (first 5 minutes), but decided it would be better to just get some sleep. I ended up getting a little under 6 hours of sleep. No to terrible. I'll do Kenpo X tomorrow and be caught up for the next week (or so I thought..) .

Day 47

I wasted alot of time yesterday. So.. I'm doubling up today. Doing Legs and Back this morning (5pm) and Kenpo X in the evening (4am).

Legs and Back- It went well. Not much progression in the pull-ups, but I'm still doing like 6 to 10.. and getting really deep. It's kind of suprising how warm your muscles get. After doing the "Calf Rasies" w/ 15 pounds weight in each hand they felt as warm as the pavement outside.

Ab Ripper X- Not so great tonight. I tried to remind myself that this will be my last chance for Round 2 to do Ab Ripper X, but I was to tired.

Day 40

Legs and Back- Things went well. I got nice and low in my pull-ups. I finally switched my grip in the air for the "Switch Grip Pulls-ups". I think I wold like to just hang on the pull-up bar.. see how long I can hang. I can feel comfortable hanging, maybe I can rest in a hang and get more reps in. Instead of just dropping out when I get a bit tired.

Ab Ripper X- Nothing new.

Day 33

Legs and Back- I was still feeling the a bit sore from two days ago, it made me question how much effort I was putting out during the first phase. I think I did really good today. Finishing I was exhausted. My pull-up numbers weren't great, but they did improve over the last time I did this set of pull-ups (two weeks ago).

Ab Ripper X- Tired going into this.. I didn't do to great starting out, but I stayed in.. and ending up finishing strong.

Day 19

Legs and Back- I was definately sweating alot for this type of workout... I would like to think it was because I was working hard, but it was probably due to the fact that I ate not long before I started the workout. I didn't have much issues with my joints today. I ended up getting less reps with my pull ups, but.. I think I did go lower then last week (but, I'm still not going from as low as hanging).

Ab Ripper X- I lost some progress I made two days ago. My "Mason Twist" were the best they've been though.

Day 12

Legs and Back- My left knee is definatly worse then my right. I'm not sure I can switch my hands for the "Switch grip pull-ups".... soon though.. soon.

Ab Ripper X- For "Fiffer Scissors"; I lay my arms under my back (to help support my spine), take alot of short breathes (like a woman giving birth), and sort of squeeze my buttocks. This allows me to get the form alot better and really focus on keeping my legs up.. and at the least keeping my bottom leg straight out.

Getting near the end of my (sugar free) Almond Milk (when it comes out in clumps).. it sort of taste a bit like Vanilla Ice Cream, though many people would probably disagree.

Day 5

Legs and Back- I think I did good with everywhere, except the pull-ups. It's a little upsettting, because doing pull-ups used to be my thing. I know if I stay with P90X, I'll get better and perform myself. I did about 6 reps of the first three types (twice) and 4 reps of the switch grip style with a foot resting on a stool. Since tomorrow is my rest day, I think I might try to just hang on the bar at various heights into the moves.

Ab Ripper X- I did really good today. My first 10 or so Fifer Scissors didn't look to pathetic, though the remaining 15 did. My "Oblique V-Ups" were really good, made me question if I had the right form.

Day 19

Legs and Back - I'm a little dissapointed that I didn't get the the numbers I was hoping to get for my Chin-up and Pull-up stuff. Even though it was my last chance to record some strong numbers for Phase 1.. I'm still happy with the overall effort I put out.

Ab Ripper X - I'm getting better at this. For Oblique V-Ups and Fifer Scissors, I just have to pant like I'm about to give birth (or else I hold end up holding my breath). I also noticed if I place my arms under back.. parellel to and supporting my spine.. I could work Hip Rock n Raise and Heels to the Heavens.. in a way more closer to how their doing it and without the lower back pain. With those minor adjustments I was able to hang in for all of the moves with basically no breaks. Now I can focus on getting my legs straighter and my overall form better.

Nutrition - Nothing new.

Day 12

Today was pretty sucky. At my work you can usually count on Wed and Thur being light days. So I work on an update to a program and revise one of our databases. I come back on the floor and everything is like an hour to two hours behind. We miss a deadline.. witch adds a bit more work on to my workload. I finally finish about two hours past the time I was hoping to leave at. Then I relize that co-worker (that was nice enough to give me a ride in) left early without telling me. So I have to wait for someone else (again, that was kind enough to give me a ride home), another hour or two of sitting around. I think I managed to keep it all under control.. I don't think anyone noticed how pissed off I was. When I got home it toke me an hour to cool down, rationalize things, and get motivated to workout.

Legs and Back-Good solid workout. Sort of feel like I cheating with the pullups.. I need to get an actually pullup bar (maybe over the weekend). Despite my knees continuing to make noise.. I think I pushed my self a bit more then last time (where I might of been more cautionary)

Ab Ripper X-I think I did good. I definately tried to Bring it. I sort of want to record myself, so I can compare both to the videos and to my previous workouts.

Nutrition-Looking forward to making lunch next week and improving my nutrition stats. I'm thankfull I'm used to eating the same thing everyday and have such bland tastebuds.

Day 5

Legs and Back-So.. the first day was intense and the second day I was covered in sweat. Day 3 and 4 just didn't seem to reach the intensity of Day 1. So I did what the video said "Bring It" and I brought it. My knees were creaking again.. which probably isn't a good thing. Most likely something to do with my 10 years of bicycling to work (for the most part) or my lack of fats and/or calcium. I had to cover my ears towards the end to block out the noise. It's not like their hurting really.. just making a noise.. maybe some WD-40 would fix it.

Ab Ripper X-It caught me by suprise again. Still.. I put the same effort as Legs and Back into this. I kept through it and improved my technique alot. I have the most trouble with Fifer Scissors (One leg vertical other parellel with body, switching every couple seconds).. I just can't seem to get my legs straight and up.

Nutrition-My stepmom gave me some corn tortillas so for my Dinner I've been having an Egg over one of those along side my Protein Drink (just mixed w/ water (hopefully it absorbs okay this way)) .

It's only been a few days.. but I think I'm starting to see some more defined defination. Of course it's probably easy to see muscle if you don't have any meat on your body to start out with.

In my free time I've been searching out other people doing P90X. I've enjoyed the videos on this guy's site http://www.90dayreview.com/ , he acts like all 110% into it and quotes the guy in the workout video constantly.
